St. John’s Cathedral

The St. John’s Cathedral- Located in St. John’s in Antigua, this cathedral is the seat of Diocese of the North East Caribbean and Aruba. This church was originally commissioned in 1683, however, later it got damaged in two earthquakes. This building was built in 1845. The iron made gate at the entrance has two imposing statues of St. John the Divine and St. John the Baptist in flowing robes. These statues were confiscated by the British Navy from the French and later installed here. Because of its architectural beauty this cathedral is famed to be the most imposing of all the Cathedrals of the West Indian Province.

Parks and gardens

For kids, not only there is unending beaches of white sand and calm ocean water, there is something very interesting apart from this. There is Antigua Donkey Sanctuary near Bethesda, which is located on the way to Half Moon Bay from the English Harbor. This sanctuary houses more than 80 donkeys.
