Panchvati located on the banks of River Godavari is considered to be the most sacred place on the earth. According to the Ramayana, this was the place where Lord Rama along with his wife Seeta and brother Lakshman, stayed for the duration of his exile. The place is marked by the presence of five holy banyan trees and has other places of interest like The Seeta Gufa, which according to the legends was the place Lord Ram prayed to please Lord Shiva.
