The cuisine of Anguilla is a melting pot of cuisines of several regions like African, English, French, Caribbean, Spanish, etc. Each of the early settlers brought along with them there own set of dishes which got incorporated into the lifestyle of these islands. Seafood features mainly in the island cuisine. There are varieties of it like lobsters, prawns, crab, mahi mahi, and red snapper. Cod is very popular among the natives of Anguilla. Varieties of stews and soups are made up of this. Since, coral islands do not support much livestock so options of meat are limited. However, goat and chicken can be found, but beef is imported. Again vegetation is very little due to limited agricultural activities possible on these islands.
