Junagarh fort was constructed by Raja Rai Singhji, the sixth ruler of Bikaner. He ruled from 1571 to 1612 AD. Raja Rai Singhji could organise the incomes of a Kingdom enlarged by the defeat of half Marwar and by the contribution of half Gujarat. He used funds from Jodhpur and Western Deccan for building this massive fort. During his term, he travelled distances which gave him vision and great ideas about art and architecture. It is easily noticeable how precisely these ideas were unified in the architectural styles of his building in Junagarh fort.
