This is of the famous botanical gardens of Sri Lanka and is located at Nuwara Ellia- Badulla main road. This is also the second largest botanical garden of Sir Lanka. It is under the maintenance of the Hakgala Strict Nature Reserve. This is situated 5,400 feet above the sea level and enjoys a cool temperate climate that attracts thousands of visitors year. The garden was initially established to cultivate cinchona but was later replaced by tea cultivation. A famous folklore says that the Demon King Ravana offered Sita this garden as a pleasure garden and kept her hidden here after abducting.
