There are about 39 caves in the Bandhavgarh National Park, some of which date back to first century A.D. Many of these caves have inscriptions in Brahmi script and some have drawings of animals and other figures symbolizing primitive life. The biggest cave here is Badi Gufa which was built sometime around 10th century A.D. The cave is spacious and is strategically located being visible from the fort.
