Traktir Sam Prishyol of Tashkent is famously known for its microbrewery. It is believed that they serve beers and other alcoholic beverages which were invented by some German monks. Their menu offering various dishes of meat and fish is quite popular.

Blues Café in Samarqand is a low lit bar which may not be offering live music but they play soundtracks from the 80’s along with serving some good food and coffee. Their cocktails are also much in demand among the patrons.

Chorsu Bazaar of Tashkent is a shopper’s delight. It is the famous farmers market where you will find everything which grows on Uzbek soil. From varieties of spices to vegetable and fruits like pomegranates, persimmons, melons and huge sized tomatoes, each thing are stacked up and offered for sale.

Each of the cities of Uzbekistan has its own market which is laden with the local produce and art works. These colourful markets are more often than not filled with stalls where the hawkers sell whatever they grow or produce. There are several eateries as well which serve local as well as national delicacies.

Built in 1910, this is one of the newest Islamic monuments of the country. Situated in Khiva, its minarets being 57m tall are the Uzbekistan’s highest. Named after Islom Hoja, he was an early 20th century liberal who did a lot for the society. He built schools and hospitals, and also brought telegraph system into the city.

This country is basically a country of people following Islam since almost 90% of the total population observe the religion of Islam. Rest 5% are Russian orthodox Christians and rest 5% make u for the rest of the religions.

The Museum of Applied Arts situated at the Islom-Hoja Medressa is a treasure trove for Khorezm handicrafts like carpets, wooden and metal art works, etc. all these items belonging to different ages has been displayed.

The History Museum of the People of Uzbekistan located in Tashkent is one of the primary stop for the travellers to this country who want to get a deep insight into the history of this country and its people. It has in its exhibits artefacts from the ancient period including Buddha belonging to the 1st century. This multi storied museum building showcases thousands of historically important items. It is closed on the Mondays.
