Being an island, Reunion Island is surrounded by several beaches. Nonetheless, few of them have rough surf and are not meant for children. Yet, there are a few beaches on the west coast along the stretch of hotels connecting St. Gilles-les-Bains and Hermitage-les-Bains.

Reunion Island is very famous for its culture. Its traditions and ancient history makes it very unique and one of a kind. This island consists of more than 7000000 inhabitants. These people mostly interact in French or Creole language. The residents of the island are Roman Catholic, though people belonging to both Buddhist and Muslim religions are represented as well. This is largely a society respectful of each other's diverse cultures and the island has suffered no political or social unrest in almost all spheres.

Reunionese cuisine has a blend of rice, beans and rougail. Spices add to the flavour of the delicacy. One of the Reunionese chilli peppers is piment-zoiseau which is generally used in the spicy sauce called rougail. It usually accompanies the main dish which is a local curry mix.

Brèdes is a famous side dish of this region. These are edible leaves and stems extracted from various plants. These are fried and served with garlic, ginger and onion along with chilly peppers.

There are various prominent sports in the Reunion Island where one can enjoy nightlife. These include Café de la Gare – Latina Café, 6Bar, L'Africa Queen, among others. One can enjoy music here along with a few prominent drinks of the region.

Pretty St Paul boasts of a fun outdoor street market and lots of traditional Creole houses for guests to admire.

Canyoning was not a famous sport but recently for all the game junkies it has been really famous. It is perfectly described as the method of climbing, hiking or rappelling or can be narrated as an arrangement of all the three.

If one has never tried paragliding before, this is the perfect place for you.The instructor will offer a bare minimum training that would be required for stepping out from the airplane.

This is one of the famous museums in the world. This museum displays work by famous artists, including the work done by Picasso and Gauguin. This museum displays work depicting modern art.

This museum is dedicated to the sugarcane factory workers. It displays works showcasing the history of the island, slavery, distilleries, agricultural productions and much more. You can also visit a laboratory where you can smell various fragrances and even learn how to create one.

The statue of Virgin Mary is sheltered by an umbrella and is protected from rain. It is one of the prominent one in the Reunion Island.  This place is worth visiting and attracts tourists all-round the year. This statue revolves around the assumption which commemorates taking up of Mother Mary in to heaven.

This place is a bird watchers paradise. One can find a variety of birds here. You can spot Mascarene Swiftlet, Reunion Stonechat, Zebra Dove or White-tailed Tropicbird, apart from sea birds. You can also find mammals like deer, rabbits and many more here. Children will love watching these different species of birds and animals.

Although Reunion Islands do not boast of world famous parks and gardens, yet they do have a few small parks and gardens where children can play, enjoy and spend a wonderful time. There are Bebour-Belouve forests in these islands where your children can spot different types of birds and mammals. They can click photographs; enjoy trekking and playing around the trees. These parks and gardens in the Reunion Islands ensure that your children do not get bored and have something that interests them.
