Hershey Park

Hershey Park is a must visit for every child! With its plethora of thrilling roller coasters, rides and attractions, not to mention water rides, the park is a kiddie haven. Picnicking at the nearby historic Hershey Park Arena or Stadium, will only make the visit even more worthwhile! However, if you’re on holiday mode and the last thing you want to do is grill, the park has a variety of different dining options too. From snack shacks to air-conditioned restaurants, your worked up appetite is sure to be satiated. Little ones will especially love the Breakfast at the Park program where they can enjoy an exclusive meal with the Hershey’s Product characters!

Zoo America

Zoo America is a must visit for children! Spacious and lively, the zoo is filled with more than 200 adorable animals and 75 species across five regions of North America! While the Southern Swaps are murky and realistic, The Great Southwest is plenty interesting too! Children will especially enjoying some of the more real versions of their favourite cartoon characters in their realistic avatars in their natural habitats such as the roadrunner and the coyote!

The Hershey Story

We’ve all heard of the great Hershey’s claim to fame, but the Hershey Story is where you can see the story unfold in front of your eyes. Witness the legendary journey of Milton S. Hershey, his life, the evolution of his world-renowned chocolate empire and the rich legacy he left behind – quintessential rags to riches story of an American man clinging on to the great American dream. The inspirational story is told through five separate, permanent exhibits each more informative than the other, audio-visual aids and mini theatres. Kids can further enjoy the experience by becoming Hershey’s apprentices where they will receive a special booklet and puzzles, also don’t forget to give the Museum shop a quick go-around before heading out! A treasure trove of eclectic goodies from cookbooks to artisan chocolates to commemorative tins and jars, to crystals, and Tiffany lamps, souvenirs are available here, aplenty! Lastly, no visit to Hershey is complete without an experience at the Chocolate Lab. Inspired by Milton’s own apprenticeship, this 45 minute experiment will allow visitors to explore the unique qualities of chocolate through hands-on experiences and interactive sessions and demonstrations.

Adventure

The Odyssey, a ginormous jungle gym of sorts, promises to be an adrenaline-inducing riot of fun for guests of all ages. Participants will need to tackle rope obstacles, undertake climbing challenges, and zip line along with a plethora of other activities. Paintballing, orienteering, geocaching, fly-fishing are some of the other exciting activities for guests to indulge in at Hershey.

Relaxation

The Spa at The Hotel Hershey is the place to catch up on some much-needed R&R. Allow yourself some pampering by indulging in some of the many Milton Hershey-themed treatments on offer. The Cuban Experience draws from Milton’s connection to the Cuban mills, which supplied his factory with sugar. Exotic warmth offered by jasmine, lime, coconut and raw sugar, perfectly embody the Cuban theme of the experience. The Rose Garden treatment, inspired by Catherine Hershey’s love of roses too is deeply relaxing. However we strongly recommend going for one of the several chocolate-infused treatments on offer, the decadent Whipped Cocoa Bath in particular.

If spas are not your idea of a relaxing afternoon, maybe a round of golf is better suited for you. Located at the Hershey Country Club, smack dab in the middle of the beautiful, lush green Pennsylvania countryside, is a tree award-winning golf course which makes for the perfect setting for a lazy round of golf.

Shopping

Just like you can’t go to a candy shop without buying something, the Hershey’s experience isn’t truly complete without a bit of shopping and The Hotel Hershey, is the perfect place to indulge in some retail therapy. A one stop shop of sorts, the hotel is home to a bunch of charming little boutiques. The Jeweler is a treasure chest of watches, jewellery boxes and exquisite jewellery from the likes of Meira T, and Links of London – the unique Le Vian’s chocolate diamonds available at the shop, are in particular, a store favourite, while the Storied Home is the place to be for home décor apparel. Housing a whole range of quirky items from gift able aluminium pieces and signature items from Mariposa to lovely décor from Chehoma Ben’s Garden and Fishe’s Eddy to local, fresh olive oils and balsamic vinegars, come here if you are in want of a great gift!

The Hotel Hershey is also home to a darling little confection shop selling some of the most sumptuous desserts – think signature cupcakes, sea-salted caramels, chocolate-covered strawberries and creamy Mazzoli ice-cream recreated using the original recipe of Chef Fred Mazzoli, the personal dairy chef of Milton S. Hershey himself. The Spa Boutique is also another quaint, inviting shopping destination at the hotel. Choose from a range of exclusive Chocolate Spa products, scented candles, speciality body and bath products along with brand apparel from the likes of Lilly Pulitzerand BedHead pyjamas. However, the fantasy-like hotel isn’t the only shopping destination in town, the Crossroads Antique Mall too makes for a great shopping destination, especially for collectors of all things antique. Rustic furniture, primitives, pottery, glass, dolls, toys and an impressive collection of china porcelain are all on offer at the mall. But beware, browsing always leads to buying at this chest of collectibles!

The Circular

For some fine dining fare, head to The Circular at the Hotel Hershey. An elegant, sophisticated restaurant, The Circular is most famous for its contemporary take on the classics – think reinvented French onion soup, Dunk Confit with risotto, steak tartare with black garlic aioli and such, and its signature cocktails.

Hershey Grill

The Hershey Grill makes for a lovely spot for lunch. The menu at the fancy, well-lit restaurant puts emphasis on flavours and fresh, seasonal produce. Mouth-watering home-made sauces are its speciality.

Devon

Located in The Hershey Press Building, Devon is one of Hershey’s chicest fine dining offerings. Renowned for its impressive wine list, handcrafted signature cocktails created by a team of skilled mixologists and above all, its divine, premium seafood, this is the restaurant makes for the ideal setting for a private romantic evening away from the kids.

Café Zooka

Warm, friendly and casual dining at its best, Café Zooka is the ideal place to take your brood for a fun, hearty meal. Think filling subs, grinders, sandwiches, warm soups, personalized pizzas, salads, wraps and other such all American classics. The all-you-can-drink fountain beverages will be sure to amuse the kids!

The Harvest

The Harvest is the place to come to after tucking your kids in for the night. Take in the comfortable, vintage interiors of the charming pub as you unwind over a soul-soothing drink – some of the sumptuous beverages on offer include delicious micro brews, innovative cocktail, aged wine. The fresh, wholesome American cuisine offered at the restaurant too, alone is worth coming for.
