Haiti offers plenty of fun activities for kids and their entire family. Northern Haiti has the most beautiful beaches like Labadee and Cormier page where children will love to do horse riding. A historic walk in Labadee will also be fun for them. There are also resorts that have some wonderful activities and tours designed for children. The entire family will love to explore the caves in Southern part of the country but taking a Haiti tourism guide is recommended

This is located in Port-Au-Prince and contains various items of historical interest. The suicide pistol of King Christophe is also placed here. The anchor of Columbus’s flagship, the famous Santa Maria is also on display here.

There are many fusion restaurants in the capital. Café Marabou, Beyrouth, Au Cpin des Artistes are some of the popular restaurants. For a unique experience you can try Altitiude 900 and as the name suggests, it is located atop mountains.

You will notice French influence on the food because of the country’s past. There are also some African and Arab influences too. The specialties include Griot which is fried pork, CabriBoucane or grilled goat, Pate or stuffed pastries, Dirikole or rice and beans among numerous other exotic main-course spread. The food here is not hot with only a few dishes as exceptions.

The flea market at Labadee is the most famous one and one can do a lot of hard bargaining here. However, most of the items on sale are limited to handicrafts.

The Big Star Market is the most important in Port-au-Prince.

The bays in Northern Haiti experience windy weather; thus, encouraging people interested in windsurfing and kite-surfing to indulge in their respective pursuits. For great diving experiences both northern and southern parts of the country offer ample opportunities. At Labadee, you can try snorkelling, jet skiing and kayaking. Jacmel is also a place for great water based adventure activities. Scuba diving is also very popular in the Moles-Saint Nicholas area.

You can relax at the numerous hotels and resorts here that also offer spa facilities. Spend a quite time at the beach of smaller islands where unwind and bring your worried mind to rest.

This peninsula was first landed on by the great explorer Christopher Columbus in 1492. Today you can see plenty of heritage buildings here and of course the place adorns natural beauty like no other site. There are 27 vestiges here which include the Fort Saint Charles, Fort Georges and Les Ramparts. It is a UNESCO world heritage site.

This used to be the home of King Henry I of Haiti or Henri Christophe as he is more popularly known. The name of the palace means, “Without worry”.  Henri Christophe wanted to show to the world the skill and capabilities of the black race by building this magnificent palace. It was declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1982.

There was huge destruction in the 2010 earthquake and quite a number of churches were destroyed including this 19th century cathedral.

This beautiful white cathedral is situated in Jacmel and was built in 1859.
