The National Museum of Eritrea is located in Asmara. It was established in 1992 by WoldeabWoldemariam. This museum exhibits useful items of the various ethnic groups of Eritrea that helps to promote the rich Eritrean history and provide information about the traditional life in the countryside. The NorthernRed SeaRegionalMuseum and the Southern Red Sea Regional Museum provide the tourists with detailed information about the live and history of the nation. The artefacts and particulars prove to be very resourceful for those who are interested to carry out further research work over the concerned topics.

The ambience of the restaurant is sober and the culinary offer is delicious. The fish, served with chapatti flat bread, is served in two sizes: medium and big which is a real treat.

This is the only Indian restaurant in Eritrea. The restaurant serves some tasty Indian food and will not fail to impress you with its supreme quality food.

It is located opposite the mosque. This restaurant is famous for its lip-smacking sea-food. It also enables you to enjoy your food by facilitating you to dine outside.

There are bars located in Asmara, Massawa and Keren that enable you to enjoy nightlife with full vigour and energy. Some of ther famous bars and hotels that are located here are Zara cocktail and Red Sea Hotel. You must taste Asmara beer which is a speciality in this country.

Shoppers can check out different attractive locations including open market and super market where handicraft materials are available. In Asamara, one can find craft-oriented markets behind the main mosque that sells a wide range of wicker and pottery goods. Additionally, there are Italian-style grocery shops where you can buy anything from mineral water to Chianti wine.Medebar Market is a great place to shop around. It is a pen-air workshop where absolutely everything is recycled. Old tyres are made into sandals,corrugated iron is flattened and made into metal buckets and olive tins from Italy. There are two supermarkets namely Bellavista and Massawa Supermarket where you can buy good quality food products.

This is situated in Taulud Island where you can learn diving. There are services that provide special diving courses to tourists.

You can enjoy boating to the Green Island that is 20 minutes away from Massawa and is the most accessible place. It is perfect for snorkelling and gives you the opportunity to visit some of the most beautiful beaches.

This is an ancient city located at the southern portion of the Debub region of Eritrea. Also known as Kohaitto, these ruins were first excavated in 1868. It is a historic ruin that covers over 15km. The original town was situated 2500 metres above sea level at the edge of the Great Rift Valley. A short walk from Qohaito takes you to the edge of a vast canyon that plummets dramatically.

This is a group formed by prehistoric stone circles that also includemany double circles. These circles date back as far as 260 AD and are a visual delight.

This alley can be listed among one of the few genuine alleys that are left today. It was constructed in the 1950s and was built primarily for US servicemen when they were fortifying the military bases of the region.

The government of Eritrea recognizes both Christianity and Islam. Hence the most important religious places to be found here are EritreanOrthodoxTewahedoChurch, Eritrean Catholic Church, Evangelical Lutheran church and Sheikh Hanafi Mosque. While the EritreanOrthodoxTewahedoChurch is based on the doctrines of Oriental Orthodoxy the Eritrean Catholic Church is headed by a bishop and the Evangelical Lutheran church follows the doctrines laid down by the German friar, Martin Luther. The Sheikh Hanafi Mosque was built 500yrs ago and is one of the oldest structures to be found in Eritrea. It is dedicated to Sheikh Hanafi who was a great teacher.
