Congo Tourism

This is the second of the two national forest reserves of the Congo in the northern region that provide a unique jungle experience to every visitor here. This ancient forest has plenty of trails for walking and hiking leading to spots that are rich in wildlife.

Just at the confluence of the Lofoulakari River and the Congo River in south-western Brazzaville, you will come across one of the most spectacular waterfalls that will leave you spellbound.

Located in the capital, this is the best place to pick up a great work of art as a souvenir.  This association has members who have had their works displayed in US and European countries.

This is a beautiful building and now it has become the place where the French ambassador resides. This one was originally the house of Charles de Gaulle when Brazzaville used to be an important city of France in the 1940s during World War II. It is located in the capital and it is an ideal example of the architecture of the times in which it was built.

In Brazzaville, for seafood, head to Mami Watta where not only is the food excellent but the location is quite appealing too. For continental flavours, you can visit the Nenuphar Bar and Restaurant. Chez Denise, Le Derrick, Villa Antonetti are all names for quality French cuisine.

Bars and pubs are only places that hold live band performances. “Diplomat” always has some local bands playing and even local dancers. If you just want to unwind after a tiring day, then head for the Boom Boom Afrique lounge for a quite drink.

The younger crowd often goes to 3D bar located in Roundabout, Brazzaville. For a bar with a riverside view, the Les Rapides is a popular one. You are surely going to experience a great leisure time here.

You can find open air markets in M’Pila and Makana which are villages that are situated couple of miles away from the capital. Here, you can get your hands upon the most beautiful handmade baskets and jewellery pieces. Other art and craft items are easily available here. You will also find a similar market near the Congo Post office too.

This is a paradise for the adventurous spirit. Plenty of water sport to take part and the most exciting white water rafting destination make this one of the highlights of any.

The Congo rapids are perfect for white water rafting. Water skiing, surfing, diving are some of the most exciting activities here. Point Noire’ beaches are where you should head to if you want to surf or hang glide. Exploring the jungle can sound like a great adventure but be wise and always have a guide along with you.

While, the country is a paradise for adventurous travellers, it offers plenty for those looking for some peace and quietness. The beaches with picturesque surroundings are something that you must not miss by any chance. You can take city tours of churches, colourful markets, and gardens too. You can also take part in some freshwater fishing at Lac Bleu for a great positive feeling after getting a good catch.

This gleaming memorial houses the mortal remains of Pierre Savorgnan de Brazza who was the founder of the city. There are no admission charges to this memorial.

Children will build lifelong memories here with visits to the two great forest reserves. Kids will be absolutely enchanted with the large number of monkeys and chimpanzees here. Viewing the many endangered animals will also delight them. The colourful city of Brazzaville also has several attractions for children.

This building in the capital is an architectural marvel in its combination of western ideas and local techniques. It was built in 1949 and it is quite a modern structure.

This one and only museum in the country is located at the former capital, Loango. It is situated at a distance of 25 kilometres from Pointe-Noire. The museum houses exhibits from all over the country thus making it a very convenient place to learn about Congo’s culture and history.

This is a beautiful reserve that has the most accessible rainforests. This wonderful place is a great spot for tourists. You will find some of the most exotic and endangered animals here.
