Food is the utmost necessity when travelling, good food and good trip goes the best when combined together. But on an Armenia trip one has to be non-vegetarian to enjoy the food because the specialties of the place are the Lamb dishes. The main delicacy of the place is Boiled Lamb or kashlama. This can be combined with konyak which is the local brandy.

Even the trout from Lake Sevan is a mouth watering dish of the place. There are many restaurants and café for the tourists to eat out and relax or just sit and sip a coffee somewhere, some of the famous places to be visited are Dolmama’s, The Club, Marco Polo, Artbridge bookstore café, Café Mate, Yum Yum etc. There are numerous numbers of restaurants of all international cuisine may it be Chinese, Italian, Persian or Indian.

Armenia is very lively at night, with lights and clubs that play the best music and supply delicious mouth watering snacks and food. There are many nightclubs and discothèques and even strip clubs in Yerevan. People after a long day of sightseeing and activity, specially people who love to spend all the time enjoying on a trip have lots to do after a tedious day of the trip. There are some good casinos for casino and poker lovers like Blue Diamon, Joy, Kakadu etc.

Bars and Pubs are famous for the quality of drink and snacks that they serve and some of the famous bars and pubs are Magic doors, Under Ground Pub, Irish Pub.

Shopping in Armenia can be really exciting as there are plenty of small shops that sell knick-knacks. The most amazing place to shop is the Vernissage flea market in Yerevan that sells all kinds of goods and is very popular amongst the tourist. It is also the best place to by souvenirs. The main attraction here is the woven and embroidered goods which themselves are piece of beauty.

Apart from the Vernissage there are many bookstore and up market boutiques and also shops where people can buy goods from.

Armenia is a great place to visit with family and friends. For the kids Armenia has many things to unfold, beautiful monuments, monasteries, churches, castles from which the children can known about the ancient heritage, then the museums will serve them with oasis of knowledge about the place and its ancient connection, then there are beautiful parks and gardens for children to enjoy themselves and relax. There is Water Park and Aqua Park in Yerevan which interest the kids a lot. Armenia is a beautiful package for vacation to visit with kids.

On a leisure trip or adventure trip with family and friends the trip has to include some exciting activities and Armenia has all of it, whether it is hiking or biking, fishing or hunting, horse riding or bird watching. In Yerevan, there is Water World which is a water park and a must visit. It is a special attraction for children as well. Then there is Arena Bowling Centre for people who love bowling.

When in Armenia one should definitely visit the Khor Virap Monastery located in the Ararat valley. This monastery was home to many Armenian Catholics and was host to theological seminary. This monastery is famous for its notability and pilgrimage site because Grigor Lusavorich who later became Saint Gregory the illuminator was imprisoned by the king for about 14 years. After adopting Christianity the first chapel was built in the site of Kirat Virap. Thus this place has a religious has well as cultural significance.

The Echmiadzin Cathedral is the Mother Church of Armenian Apostolic Church. It was the first cathedral build in the ancient history of Armenia and is said to be the oldest cathedral in the world. This place marks as the spiritual centre for Armenians around the world. The cathedral has been important not just for religious reasons but also for its cultural. It is said to be a major pilgrimage site.

Museums are an essential part of any place which has an ancient heritage and culture. Armenia being and ancient heritage place has many museums with belonging and things from the past. It has information about the heritage of the place, the rulers, ruling era, and everything related to the history.
