Most of the churches in Andorra are museums in their own way for the house paintings and murals depicting Christ and various saints from the 12th to the 16th century. Besides these, there is the MuseuNacional de l'Automòbil which would make you wish to take one of those 80 vintage cars or numerous antique motorcycles for a spin through the Pyrenees. The museum also exhibits more than 100 kinds of bicycles from the bone rattlers to the sleek racers.

The main meat served in most restaurants in Andorra is lamb. However, most of the resorts and ski hotels also serve a variety of other cuisines for those who wish to be experimental.

Nightlife is not so prominent in Andora. There are no bars or pubs in the region. Yet you can find some restaurants where you can go for dinner with your friends and family.

With euro as its currency, the place is a shopping haven with its plush malls and traditional stores all selling goods at cheap rates. The capital remains to be the best destination from where all kinds of cheap goods can be bought especially because of its status as a tax haven.

There are whole lot of skiing areas in Andora of which the most famous ones are Vallnord and Grandvaliraa. While Vallnord covers Arinsal Pal and Arcalis ski areas, the Grandvalira covers the Soldeu and Pas de la Casa. There is also another skiing area, the La Rabassa which is a cross country skiing area in the southern parts of Andorra just above the town of Saint Julia de Loria.

Plaça del Poble or People’s Square is located south of Plaça de Rebés which occupies the roof of a modern government administrative building. Providing a splendid view of valleys and mountains, the square is a popular local gathering place especially in the evening when it is bustling with people. There is a lift in the southeastern corner that would bring you down to the car park which is located at Carrer del Prat de la Creu. The view of the valley and mountains would make you spellbound.

Església de Santa Coloma was originally quoted in the documents that dated back to the 9th century. The pre-Romansquechurch of Santa Aloma is one of the oldest religious places of Andorra. The tall bell tower built in the 12th century still stands erect even if most parts of the church has been renovated and modified over the centuries. However, most of the church’s 12thcentury Romanesque murals except one called Agnus Dei (Lamb of God) were taken to Berlin for conservation in the 1930s and remains there.

Most people visit Andorra for its vast offerings in skiing. One of them is the Grandvalira which is the largest ski resort in the Pyrenees. Located in the east of Andorra, there are more than 200 kms long slopes from where your children even learn to ski or snowboard. The hotel offers multiple services including igloo hotel and variety of activities even for the non-skiers. The best time to visit is the beginning of December which ends in mid-April.
