April to June

Sunset Point

The sunset point is located about 1 km far from the bus stand and is an amazing spot to see the beautiful sunset within the hills along with a clear view of the surrounding hills and areas. One can even see the city of Chandigarh from up top. If you follow a narrow trail from Sunset point you will come across another viewpoint known as the Gilbert hill which offers even better views than sunset point. The view from atop of Gilbert hill is simply mesmerizing and not very well-known among the tourists. But it is an army area and one is required to return from that location within 6:30 pm.

Street market

The Upper and Lower Mall roads are lined with several small shops in Kasauli. This place especially boasts of freshly made jams and fruit juices made from the fruits in local orchards. One can also buy wines from the numerous orchards at affordable prices in this town

This sleepy little hill town is all about relaxation. There are several summer homes of some famous faces like the popular English writer Khushwant Singh among others. Christ Church

The British family who found the town of Kasauli were also the ones to build this church. It is located close to the main bus stand. A spectacular structure and an exemplary specimen of Victorian architecture, this church is built in the shape of a cross. Surrounded by a grove of beautiful fig and chestnut trees this church is the place of worship for nearly 30 families currently. It is a major tourist attraction in Kasauli which was included under the Churches of North India (CNI) in 1970 and is administered by the diocese of Amritsar. It was earlier referred to as the Anglican Church.

Gurudwara Shri Guru Nanakji

This is a historically significant religious spot for the Sikhs located at the Gharkhal bazaar on the main road to Kasauli. It also provides accommodation to visitors. This is a gurudwara, i.e. the place of worship for the Sikhs. Daily prayers are held here in addition to a special program that is held every Sunday morning. There is one more gurudwara located at the other side of the Kasauli ridge on the Tibet Road close to the Air Force Radar Station.

Monkey Point

This is the point where it is believed that Lord Hanuman set his foot while looking for the Sanjeevani herb. It is the highest point of this town and view from the top of the hill is simply brilliant. You can follow the Sutlej River cascading downwards into the plains sparkling under the sunlight and see the majestic mountain tops covered in snow of the Dhauladhar Range. The temple lies within the Air Force premises and for security reasons, one is not allowed to carry bags and cameras inside the area. This Hanuman temple is about 4 km from the Kasauli bus stand. Although the hike up till the temple can prove to be a bit tricky for elders or those not used to climbing but the views atop make it worth the trouble.
