The Uganda Museum was founded in the year 1908 on the outskirts of the city of Kampala and boasts of an amazing anthropological collection. The museum houses a superb collection of musical instruments from East Africa as well as various archaeological specimens. The Zoological Museum at Makerere University contains a vast collection of birds, mammals and rock fossils which are indigenous to the country. The geology department of the university also has collections of natural history which are of great value. If you have time, you should definitely make it a point to visit the game and fisheries museum located in Entebbe.
