True to its name, the event is a carnival of food, dance, music, and fun. Started in the year 1977 to promote tourism and culture, the winter carnival has just been getting better every year. Four decades later, it still stands for its significance but multiplying manifold in its festive spirit. The event comprises of procession from the Hadimba temple in Manali, folk dance, skits and plays, and a contest to determine the Winter Queen and Mr. Manali, skiing contests, food festival, band competition, adventure sports and more. The carnival scene along the slopes of Manali and the mall road make it a delight to simply be part of it.
