The Gwalior Fort, founded by the Tomar Dynasty, carries the sobriquet ‘Gilbraltar of India’ which gives its architectural accuracy. The fort stands tall upon an enormous rock and it is enclosed by high walls inside. The walls are dotted with structures of different cultures, periods and dynasties. It has an exotic influence of China in their various art works. The Chinese dragons that are drawn on its surface have been influenced from the Sino-Indian trade happening at the time of the fort’s inception. At dusk the fort hosts a haunting light and sound that showcases the fort’s roller coaster ride through aeons and ages.
