The Great Mosque of Touba is one of the major religious sites in Senegal. Erected in the year 1926, the Great Mosque of Touba happens to be one of the most visited Islamic pilgrimage sites in the West African region. It is famous for housing the tomb of CheikhAhmadouBamba, the Senegalese Islamic saint, under one of its three huge domes. The structure of the mosque is wonderful. It also features a large minaret surrounded by four smaller minarets.
