Literally meaning ‘The Dragon Mountain’, Drakensberg is a scenic mountain with the highest peaks in South Africa. This is a popular vacation spot in the country owing to a number of beautiful attractions located here with the likes of the World Heritage site of uKhahlamba-Drakensberg Park which is the home to astounding natural beauty painted with San rock art and jagged stanchions of basalt, and also Royal Natal National Park which is the source of many important rivers and features a splendid amphitheatre and a grand cliff. Another vital spot located in this region is Giant’s Castle Game Reserve which is the protective zone for huge herds of eland. You can enjoy a variety of activities here such as hiking, trout fishing, parasailing, biking, abseiling, river rafting and rock climbing.
