20km to the northwest of Mahe, is the third largest granitic islands of the Seychelles archipelago. SilhoutteIsland has been a marine reserve and home to a five star resort, Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort and spa. A mountainous interior bordered by white sands, Silhoutte’s highest peak at 740m is Mount Dauban. Silhoutte is filled with rain forests, orchids and carnivorous pitcher plants. Mountain trails provide excellent ways to explore this island. La Passe is the only settlement in the Silhoutte Island.
The village has an exceptional Creole restaurant housed at the restored Grand Case. The Grand Case belonged to the Dauban family from whom the peak got its name. Silhoutte has a barrier reef and provides exceptional dive spots. The granite cliffs allow diving down to depths of 35 feet. The best Silhoutte diving spots are Lascars, Grand Barbe, Etienne Rocks, Roche Mondon, Point Dauban, Roche Larai, Fusilier Bank and Ramasse Tout.
