Ratangarh is a fort in RatanWadi, overlooking the locale of Bhandardara, one of the oldest artificial catchment areas. The Ratangarh fort is around 2000 years old. Ratangarh has a natural rock peak. The peak has a cavity in it at the top and it is called 'Nedhe' or 'Eye of the Needle'. The fort has four gates namely, Ganesh, Konkan, Hanuman and Trimbak. There are also many wells on the top. The Pravara/Amrutvahiniriver originates in the fort. The Bhandardara dam is built on this river.
