The Vishwa Santi Stupa or the Peace Pagoda at the top of the Dhauli hill stands in the form of a massive dome crowned with lotus petals. The five important aspects of Buddhism are represented by the five chhatris (umbrellas) placed on the top of the structure. Dhauli Hills is located across Daya river. This is the place where the Kalinga war was supposed to have been fought. The war brought a change in the emperor Ashoka who embraced Buddhism.
