Champakulam is situated in the Alapuzha district in the Kerala State. As this state is located along the Western Ghats on the shore of the Lakshdweep Sea, it experiences humid equatorial tropical climate. Kerala has a wet and humid climate due to its seasonal monsoons. From June to August it receives summer southwest monsoon and in the months of September to December, it receives northeast monsoon rainfall. Along the Western Ghats, there is a vast span of Tropical evergreen forests where thousands of species of flora and fauna can be found.
