The Apatani Tribe of Ziro are the hosts for this off the beaten track traditional tribal festival. The month-long Myoko festival is celebrated on a rotational basis among three communities; Diibo-Hija, Hari-Bulla, and Hong of the Apatani Plateau. The women sprinkle flour and rice beer on the pigs as they recite sacred prayers and mantras. Later the pigs are taken to the huts of their owners and are sacrificed. This festival is one of the unique festivals of Ziro with numerous folk performances, processions, and rituals. It is conducted in late March every year.
