This is a small town close to Mahad in the Raigad district and is great for exploration. It is located in proximity from the Raigad fort. The town is accessible from the Mumbai-Goa National Highly NH-17. You can visit the seaside resort towns of Harihareshwar and Shrivardhan when here. Visiting Lonere while in Mahad with the Mahad City tour guide is of importance because this is the college town of DBATU. The town is relatively small but is extremely beautiful, and one can spend an entire day exploring the town and knowing more about the history of  Dr. BabasahebAmbedkar and his struggles.
