Lingaraj Temple is the oldest and the largest temple in the city. The temple, dedicated to Lord Harihara, a form of Lord Shiva is a major tourist attraction of Odisha. The temple depicts the Deula style and represents the Kalinga architecture. The temple is maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and the Temple Trust Board. Around 6000 people visit the temple every day. The number of visitors increases during festivals.
