Catacombs that used to store the exhumed bones of about 6 million people from the overflowing Paris cemeteries are now an evident landmark of the city. Château de Versailles is another not-to-be missed landmark of the city. It is France's superb chateau on the whole, on the fringes of the city, easily visited by train.
