Khijadia Bird Sanctuary is a perfect representation of the consolidation of a saltpans, seasonal freshwater shallow lake, creeks, inter-tidal mudflats, mangrove scrub and saline land. It is also the breeding point of Little Grebe, Coot, Purple Moorhen, Pheasant-tailed Jacana, Great Crested Grebe and Black-winged Stilt. Here you can spot, raptors, which include harriers, hawks, eagles, and falcons. Martins, swallows, wagtails and a variety of waterfowl are some of the variety of birds which are given sheleter in this sanctuary.
