This Sanctuary is situated in the Banaskantha district, there are a variety of animals as well as plants. The draining ecosystem of the Aravali is conserved by the forests coming under the sanctuary.
Jessore hill, the second tallest peak of Gujarat, is located in the Aravali mountain range. The Sloth Bear, an endangered species is that endangered member of the bear family which is found in this region. There are porcupines, boar, leopards, bears, hyenas, crocodiles, cheetahs, civet cats and many more are the other significant species of animals.
A variety of avi fauna is also to be found in this region; among them quite a few are of the rare species. Unfortunately, these rare species are heading towards extinction. Some lizards, tortoises and snakes can also be seen. A very rare species of the Indian python, which is known as muni ji ki kutiya, can be seen if one ventures deep inside the region.
