Located in Liptov region near Bobrovníkin, the archaeological site of Havránok is probably the most significant monument in Slovakia. Situated over the water surface of Liptovská Mara Dam this unique archeological park was actually a suburb during the younger Iron Age and is also one of the oldest cultural monuments in Slovakia. There is defense tower from where you will get an amazing view of the southern part of Liptov. There is also a Celtic hill fortress, a fortified gateway remains of an ancient stone wall and also a Celtic shrine. This open-air museum was declared a national cultural monument in 1991 and from May to September – that is the summer months are the best time for visiting this site.
