The Government Museum in Jaisalmer displays cultural artefacts from the Thar Desert. Some of the highlights of the museum exhibit are the 8 inscriptions, 72 stone sculptures, 65 coins, 179 embroidered dresses, puppets, 13 paintings, and handicrafts. Other interesting exhibits in the museum include a collection of fossils going back to 160 to 180 million years ago.
