The Ganga Dussehra is a pretty big Hindu festival which is celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm in Uttarakhand. In Ganga Dussehra, the Hindus celebrate the descent of the holy river, Ganga, on the earth. On this auspicious day, pilgrims visit the cities which are situated on the banks of River Ganga and do aarti there. They also take a dip in the river in the hope that it would clear off all the past sins they have committed. The festival is held in multiple cities and is celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm, especially in Haridwar.
