A hybrid of a lion-mermaid statue, a 37-meter version situated just by the side of Singapore River is amongst the major attractions here. Faber and enjoy a good weekend around the secondary rainforest on the small Bukit Timah Hill. The Taoist temple of Da Bogong and the Muslim Shrine at KeramatKusu on KusuIsland are also two places which are frequently visited by tourists and devotees.

Religious Places

On KusuIsland, you can visit Da Bogong Temple which is a small temple dedicated to Taoism and the God of Merchants. Devotees come to this island during the months of October and November for the Kusu Fest where they pray for prosperity. Also, there is a Muslim shrine of KeramatKusu on a very small hill. Dedicated to the saint Syed Abdul Rehman from 19th century, the shrine is a place where childless couples visit and pray for children.
