The diversity and culture present in this city is quite rich. During Independence and Republic Day there are often biannual flower shows. This city even celebrates a festival in the name of great epic heroine, Draupadi called Bangalore Karaga. Many other famous festivals in Bangalore are St Mary’s Feast, Ganesh Chaturthi, Christmas, etc. A lot towards Indian classical music has been contributed to from Bangalore. Lal Bagh and Cubbon Park are two of the national botanical gardens because of which this city is called the Garden City.
