Climbers Memorial was erected in Mount Cook track near the Hermitage in memory of those explorers who could not survive their journey in this region. A plaque was originally placed in memory of three men who could not survive an avalanche at the Linda Glacier (1914). Now a tall monument built of stone stands as the memorial.
