This marker is in memory of all of the Ukrainian Canadians that had been imprisoned under the justification that they were enemies of the state in 1914 until 1920. The statue is actually named, “Why?” and it is located near the Castle Mountain Concentration Camp where more than 600 of the imprisoned people were buried.
