This restaurant was established in 1952 and is the very spot where the Egyptian revolution of 1952 was plotted by some Free Officers of Egypt. The place is still frequented by the activist and artistic crowds of Egypt. The waiters are traditional dresses in galiniya, i.e., floor-length dresses and wear turbans. The restaurant serves authentic Levantine dishes. A menu favorite is the shish taouk served with cold beer.
