This ancient fort was rebuilt by the Portuguese. They also made a chapel to worship inside the fort. It holds a tarnished look as it stayed abandoned for a long stretch of time. It imparts an ancient historic feel to the visitors. It was once under the Indian rule followed by the rule of the Portuguese. Later it was converted to a prison.
