Almost 85% of the population of this country basically comprises Bulgarians by descent. Rest is the Turks and Romanians. Almost 83% of the Bulgarian population is the member of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church. It was founded in 870 AD, however, it was abolished under the Ottoman Rule. Subsequently it was later revived. In the due course of time some of the Bulgarians converted into other forms of religions. Now there is a minority community of each Protestant Bulgarians and Muslim Bulgarians.
