The ArchaeologicalMuseum in Goa is an integral part of the Franciscan Monastery, which is located right at the back of the Church of St Francis of Assisi. The museum contains fragments of sculpture from Hindu religion and bronze statues of LuísVaz de Camões – the Portuguese poet and the Portuguese conqueror Afonso de Albuquerque. There are also many portraits of Portuguese viceroys in the gallery in the museum.
