Also known as ‘Teerthraj’ which means the ‘King of Pilgrimage’, Amarkantak is a beautiful hill resort cum Hindu pilgrimage site of MP. This lovely town is situated among the Vindhya and Satpura ranges and consists of some exquisitely built temples that are hard to find anywhere else. Located at a height of 1,065 m, Amarkantak is the convergence point of three rivers- Narmada, Johila and Sone. This imparts this town a lovely landscape with dense forests, that’s not just pleasing to the eyes but also makes it a superb place for the growth of medicinal plants making it ecologically beneficial too.
