One of the highlights of the village of Tenganan Pegringsingan is the Perang Pandan festival. Well-known for its heritage 'double ikat' weave textiles, this village hosts a festival every year. This festival is held in honour of Hindu god, Indra, which plays a host to duels between male villagers. They hold rattan shields in one hand and a tied packet of thorny pandan leaves in the other. There is a lot of blood-shed but the contestants interestingly seem to have lots of fun.
