There are various festivals that are celebrated in the metropolitan area of Cebu. Religious festivals known as fiestas are prevalent and the people are always ready to celebrate them with plenty of food, fun, colourful clothes and decorations. Siloy is a festival celebrated each and every year on the last Saturday of the month of August and it conveys a tribute to a religious head. Mantawi is a festival that depicts the heritage of the Mandaue city and it is accompanied by food, fairs, floats and many other recreational activities. Likewise, each and every festival has some significance or the other and is celebrated in order to serve the purpose.
