Fernhill Palace is a bungalow that was constructed in 1844 and served as a summer outing for Maharaja of Mysore. It is a historical place, reflecting the long gone colonial history of India. Raj Bhavan of Dodabetta was also a summer retreat for the governors of Madras. Duke Buckingham (then Governor of Madras) built this building in 1877. His portrait along with other portraits of important English personality has been well kept inside this Government House. Second World War Memorial Pillar is dedicated to war heroes who sacrificed their lives in the wars of 1939 to 1945. This can be visited at Cantt Area.
