One of the fastest ways to reach Mount Abu is by air. But Mount Abu does not have its own airport. The closest one is at Udaipur which is 185 km away. Interestingly, at 221 km, Ahmedabad Airport is the second closest airport to Mount Abu.
Udaipur and Ahmedabad are busy routes and receive daily flights from all major domestic operators from cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Chennai. Udaipur Airport to Mount Abu - There are private taxis available at Udaipur Airport that will take you directly to Mount Abu. You can pre-book these online or engage one at the airport. RSRTC has a regular AC bus service operating between Udaipur and Mount Abu that will ensure that you reach your destination in comfort.
Ahmedabad Airport to Mount Abu - If you decide to travel from Ahmedabad Airport, you can easily book a taxi to take you directly to Mount Abu. Again, pre-booking will ensure you lower costs and assured availability. It is a journey of around 3 - 4 hours. However, a bus is a pocket-friendlier option that takes slightly more time than a private taxi. As there are no direct buses from Ahmedabad Airport, you will have to get one from the city. You can take your pick from GSRTC or any of the private operators that ply buses between the two cities. All the bus services coming into Mount Abu end at Koyla Depot which is the city’s busiest bus station.
This is the next best way to reach Mount Abu from the corner of the country. Though not as quick as flying, it makes for a scenic journey as the train makes its way across the countryside. This train journey will be as exciting as the destination itself and will be a great prelude to your hill station holiday.
