The few among the most notables are the Govind Restaurant and the Delhi Darbar Restaurant. Apart from these, there are numerous local eateries. The resorts and the hotels have their own restaurants which serve good local north Indian cuisine.  

The meals often comprise of Indian flat breads known as roti or chapatti. These are always freshly made and served immediately. These are often accompanied by servings of vegetables and lentils known as daal.

People of this region are primarily vegetarian. They often depend upon the local produce of vegetable and cereals for their dietary necessity. Apart from this, chicken and mutton are very popular. Beef and pork are not much preferred.  

Inside the national park, consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited. Any kind of loud music and consumption of non vegetarian food items is also prohibited.

While you are staying in the resorts, there are several bars cum restaurant. Here, at these hotels and resorts, they often screen films and documentaries about the local culture and the national park.

Although the Corbett National Park is more of a wildlife reserve area, there are markets in the nearby areas. Ramnagar has a market place where items of basic necessity can be found. 

Nainital, which is the district capital city, has very well developed market places. There are various shopping complexes which has several shops selling variety of goods.  

For an enriching shopping experience, visit the Mall of the Nainital. It has several shops and restaurants. You will find many local handicrafts as well as clothes and shoes. Candles and wax works are most notable here.

The Corbett National Park is a haven to those who love adventure trips. While roaming around the national park is strictly prohibited. The Park officials provide Nature Guides who are trained guides who will show around the places. Inside the national park, vehicles are available which has to be used for going around. Private vehicles are not allowed to enter the park. These guides will help you spot the animals and will take you back safely to the point of origin after showing around.

There are provisions of elephant safari as well where one may explore around while sitting on a back of an elephant. They are offered from Dhikala, Khinanauli, Bijrani, Gairal and Jhirna. There are watch towers built at some distance so that visitors can catch a clear vies of the wildlife and the surrounding landscape.

There are hiking trails around the national park, however, permits are necessary to be obtained.

Located at some distance from the National Park, this museum is situated at Kaladhungi. Once it was the residence of the famous environmentalist, now it has been turned into a museum dedicated to Jim Corbett. Here, you can see the personal effects of the famous personality. These include his books and manuscripts, guns, fishing nets, paintings and sketches and some of his hunting.

This museum is open on all days of the year. It can be visited anytime between 8 AM in the morning and 6 PM in the summer evenings and 5 PM in the winter evenings. From the Ramnagar city, it can be easily reached by bus or a taxi.  

This reserve forest is located between the Lesser Himalayas and the Shivaliks. Due to its geographic location it has a humid subtropical and highland climate. In the summers the temperature may not go beyond 40c. And during the winters it will not go below 5c. During the monsoons it receives heavy rainfall.

In terms of flora and fauna, this national park is very well endowed. As per the records, there are 488 different species of plants and trees. At some areas of this national park there is dense forest while at others the vegetation is sparse. This national park aims at conservation of various species of animals. Major emphasis is being laid on the Bengal Tigers, Asian Elephants, Great One-horned Rhinoceros, Crocodiles and Gharials.

Since, this national park is located in the Kumaon Division of the state of Uttarakhand, a heavy influence of the kumaoni culture can be seen over the local lives. Here, Kumaoni language is widely spoken and understood. However, Hindi is the main official language. Everybody can easily converse in both these languages.

As a part of the conservation projects undertaken by the national park officials, the locals are encouraged to participate. As a result, many locals are successfully employed by the national park and they collectively promote the eco-tourism. In this way, they have a deep bonding with this wildlife reserve.
