Role Overview

The Short Haul Lead or AVP-Short Haul, Domestic role will span across line functions at TCIL/SOTC. The Role Holder will be responsible for the maximization of Profitability of the overall Short Haul Domestic Business. This role will also be aligned to MICE Domestic Products, Contracting and Operations role. Devising Strategy to build product lines that cut across competition while maintaining profit margins, is crucial to this role. This management cadre role will be responsible to create and drive people and process to achieve department objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • • Determines customer's needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information
  • • Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes
  • • Assesses market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products
  • • Provides source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives
  • • Obtains product market share by working with sales director to develop product sales strategies
  • • Responsible to work closely with the marketing team and launch brochures
  • • Co-ownership of Business goals, revenue and sales targets with the Sales Head
  • • Ensuring the profitability of the division in line with forecast
  • • Should have excellent contracting knowledge on Airlines/Hotels/ Consulates
  • • Responsible to maintain excellent relationship with Airlines / Hotels/ Consulates and any other vendors
  • • Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses
  • • Facilitates inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and production schedules
  • • Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders
  • • Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results
  • • Responsible to make sure that the launched product is successfully operated and the target GOP is achieved
  • • Work closely with the commercial team on re-pricing or alter the supply basis the demand of the launch
  • • Maintains product management staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • • Responsible to train and up skill the sales staff on the new launches
  • • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Role Proficiency

For successful execution of the job, the candidate should possess the following:

  • • Knowledge of Travel Domain
  • • Maintain a high level knowledge on Hotels, Airlines, Consulates
  • • Good communication (both verbal and written) skill in both English and the local language
  • • Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
  • • Good networking and relationship building skills
